Turkey Trot Fun Run

5 Mile Run, 2 Mile Run/Walk & 1K Run

A note on this year:

The Merced Running Club would like to invite you, your family, and friends to another fun-filled running event at the Merced Turkey Trot.

Due to recent and ongoing construction, this long-time tradition in Merced has moved to a new location: Lake Yosemite, next to UC Merced!

Also new this year...all 2 and 5 mile participants will be chip timed! Thank you Buhach Colony High School Cross Country for their timing services.

This year you can also enter online through

Bring your new or lightly used running shoes on race day and you will receive raffle tickets for prizes that will be given away throughout the day. If you have participated in the past, you know how much fun we all have at this event. This year, we hope that you will join us and BRING A FRIEND! Remember, rain or shine, we will refunds for no-shows. And we thank you in advance for your participation.


Race Registration & Packet Pick-up

7 am
Start time:

1K run for 10 and under, starts at 8:15 am
2 mile run/walk and 5 mile run start at 8:30 am


Lake Yosemite, at Rotary Cove 1. Registration and check-in will take place at the pavilion.


$10 for kid's 1K, $25 for 2 mile and 5 mil. Register before November 15 for a discount!

2 and 5 mile: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90+
1K: 5 & under, 6-10

Awards to overall winners and medals three deep in each age group.  Entry fees include T-shirt (while they last), post-race refreshments, and entry into the race raffle.  All races start and finish at Rotary Cove I (Lake Yosemite). Proceeds go to the Merced Running Club where the money is used to award scholarships to local high school runners that are moving on to college. The MRC has donated thousands of dollars to local high school runners for college, the purchase of running shoes, and other team equipment. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Merced Rescue Mission’s annual Thanksgiving dinner. A big THANK YOU to all MRC members for their continued support and endorsement of our sport.

Annual Shoe Drive:

Bring shoes that are no longer needed and help out the needy in our community.  Each pair of donated shoes qualifies you for an entry in Lee Andersen's raffle.
